PKR communications director Lee Chean Chung today announced that the party will be leading a class action lawsuit against banks that do not act in the interest of their customers in scam cases.<br /><br />In a statement, the party also said the government and the banks have a moral obligation to take proactive action, because these scammers' crimes are based on fraud or malicious intent.<br /><br />The party said every year an average of 20,000 people fall victim to banking scams, with more than RM660 million stolen by scammers.
