Fabio Quartararo has borne his brutal injuries following his crash in the Aragon Moto GP on Sunday.

The Frenchman Quartararo was performing well in the race in seventh and felt afterwards he was well positioned to challenge as high as third.

However, in the third lap the reigning world champion came off after colliding with the back of Marc Marquez.

The six-time world champion, who was racing for the first time since June, backed off when turning into Turn three to stop himself from rear-wheel sliding.

Back camera footage from Quartararo's bike shows him then colliding into the back of Marquez before sliding out and launching him off his Yamaha.

As a result of being thrown across the road while going 100mph, the Frenchman suffered friction burns as well as abrasions to his chest and torso having been hit by his bike.

Following the race, Quartararo, who was donning bandages across his body, most notably on his torso and upper chest, was asked how he felt after the crash.

'Sore and burned. It’s a shame because it’s the first time I felt good in Aragon for many years,' he said.

'Marc turned so well, but also had a slide. I had better traction, didn’t expect it and just hit the back [of him]. I don’t remember exactly the situation, but it’s a shame in just the third corner,' he added.

Despite his injuries, the Frenchman is hoping to be back for the next GP - in Japan on Sunday.

'Japan is a track I love,' Quartararo said. 'Hopefully we can race there [despite the typhoon warnings] because many riders have not been in Japan on a MotoGP bike, like Enea Bastianini.

'I feel Japan can be a good track for us because even if there is a lot of acceleration, there is also a lot of braking. That is our strong point. So hopefully Japan happens.'
