A farmer in Gaoua, Noël KAMBOU has been suffering from lymphatic filariasis for more than 25 years. This disease is a real burden, which hinders his agricultural activities. "When I fall and my foot hurts, I can lie down for twenty days without leaving my room. So I can no longer farm," says Noël. Before this illness, he was able to produce enough for his family and for other needs.<br /><br />Despite these difficulties, he is still determined to fight his way through. "I am a father, I have children, I have to take care of their needs. That's why I get up, I manage to get my farm work in order to help the family," he says.
