MIKE TYSON was all smiles as he enjoyed a night out in New York City.<br /><br />The former boxer, 56, has suffered from health problems in recent months, but he looked in good shape when he went out to dinner in the Big Apple.<br /><br />Tyson was accompanied by a friend as he entered the upscale Indian restaurant SONA in the Flatiron District.<br /><br />The restaurant offers private dining and features an art gallery, as well as a menu that includes crab caviar and delicious lamb chops for £56.<br /><br />So it was no surprise that Tyson was grinning from ear to ear when he entered the store in a blue leather jacket.<br /><br />Iron Mike also wore a blue striped t-shirt, jeans and white sneakers, while his friend wore a black crop top and matching pants with a long black and white cardigan.<br /><br />Tyson was also able to walk without the aid of a cane, which he has used in recent weeks to support himself.<br /><br />The former world heavyweight champion revealed that he suffers from sciatica and a flare-up of the condition causes pain that prevents him from walking unassisted.<br /><br />Tyson also had to use a wheelchair as he walked through an airport terminal last month.<br /><br />In a recent interview, Tyson explained the health issue and the problems it causes.<br /><br />He said: “I have sciatica from time to time, it flares up. When it explodes, I can't even speak! Thank God it's the only health problem I have. I am splendid now.<br /><br />"Everyone in my house is truly blessed and we are all so thankful for what we have."<br /><br />Sciatica is a condition that causes nerve irritation and appears to be affecting Tyson's back.<br /><br />Tyson retired from boxing in 2005 due to a back problem, while he too struggled with a knee injury late in his career.<br /><br />Despite the issue, Tyson returned to the ring in 2020 to fight Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight.
