The man who oversees the running of Kent Police has admitted the 101 call system needs to improve.<br /><br />It's after we were told in some cases it was taking up to 40 minutes for a call to be answered, while other people who'd dialled simply gave up.<br /><br />The number is meant to be used to report non-emergency matters like suspicious behaviour or a crime that's already been committed.<br /><br />A report last month revealed more than half of all calls to 101 in Kent made in July went unanswered.<br /><br />The Force is currently trying to recruit more call handlers.
