A Total Lunar Eclipse , Will Happen on Election Day.<br />According to EarthSky.org, a total lunar eclipse will take place on Nov. 8.<br />It's the first time <br />in America's history <br />that such an event <br />has occurred <br />on Election Day.<br />The next Election Day lunar eclipse <br />won't happen until Nov. 8, 2394.<br />According to NASA, when a <br />total lunar eclipse takes place, <br />the sun and moon are on <br />exact opposite sides of our planet. .<br />As a result, Earth stops the sun's light from hitting and reflecting off of the moon.<br />Earth's shadow <br />encompasses <br />the moon instead.<br />According to TimeandDate.com, if the sky is clear, lunar eclipses can be seen from anywhere on <br />the side of the Earth in which it's night.<br />From some places the entire eclipse will be visible, while in other areas the moon will rise or set during the eclipse, Via TimeandDate.com.<br />In North America, the eclipse <br />will be visible a couple hours before sunrise.<br />'USA Today' reports that the Western U.S. <br />will be able to see the full eclipse best.
