<br />The former head of the Catholic Church in Hong Kong<br />has appeared in court- along with five other prominent<br />pro-democracy activists.<br />Cardinal Joseph Zen, 90, had long been in Beijing's<br />crosshairs for his strong criticism of the government, as<br />well as for alleged "collusion with foreign forces."<br />They are charged with failing to register a fund that was<br />used to pay the legal fees of demonstrators in protests<br />in 2019.
