Woman and Child rescued from car in floodwater<br /><br />Fire crews were called to a country lane this afternoon (Sunday) after a woman and her child became stuck in their vehicle in flood water.<br /><br />It happened on Mill Lane in Hellingly where crews from Eastbourne Fire Station rescued the pair from their Ford car which broke down in four feet of water.<br /><br />The vehicle was then towed away from the flooding and the mother and child are said to be safe and well.<br /><br />The area has been flooded since heavy rainfall over the past three days - many roads and fields around Hellingly are still underwater. <br />
