A FIRE has broken out at a building in Dundee City Centre.<br /><br />Shocking images from the scene show the building completely engulfed in flames.<br /><br />The blaze is believed to have erupted at the abandoned Robertson's furniture building on Barrack Street in the city.<br /><br />Fire crews have been scrambled to the battle the raging inferno and it is understood up to seven fire engines have been deployed.<br /><br />An eyewitness told The Scottish Sun how quickly the flames spread, saying: "Even with the best efforts of the fire service the building became an inferno within minutes."<br /><br />The fire could be seen from all over the city as smoke billowed in the sky.<br /><br />Police have blocked off roads around the incident.<br /><br />A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6pm on Saturday police were called to assist Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, at the scene of a fire on Barrack Street.<br /><br />“Emergency Services remain at the scene and the neighboring streets are currently closed.”<br /><br />The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for comment.
