Former foreign minister Anifah Aman has claimed that Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi promised to make him a minister in the new government provided he did not contest in the 15th general election.<br /><br />Anifah said at a Pakatan Harapan rally that he was also told he would be made a senator.<br /><br />"That (offer) is not what I want. What I want is for all that’s enshrined in the Constitution and the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) to be fulfilled. That’s what I’m struggling for,” he said.<br /><br />The Parti Cinta Malaysia president said he turned down the offer and encouraged those at the rally in Sepanggar, Sabah to vote for Harapan.
