NFL: 'The Pro Bowl Games' Will Now Replace Pro Bowl

CNN reports that on Sept. 26, 2022 the NFL announced that it is replacing its annual All-Star game next year.<br />The new event, "The Pro Bowl Games,' will consist of a skills competition and flag football game.<br />CNN reports that the NFL says the new week-long format will allow players to showcase their skills in new and fun ways.<br />The NFL is also campaigning to have flag football added to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.<br />Peyton Manning, along with his Omaha Productions company, will be involved in several aspects of the production.<br />The NFL said it gathered feedback from players, teams and fans prior to making changes to the event.<br />CNN reports that in previous years, players haven't been interested in playing at full speed and risking injury for an exhibition game.<br />CNN reports that the last Pro Bowl was the least-watched in 16 years.<br />Across all platforms, the game only drew 6.69 million viewers.
