MLB Hall of Famer, Bruce Sutter, Dead at 69

The St. Louis Cardinals took to Twitter on Oct. 14, 2022 to announce Sutter's death.<br />According to Bleacher Report, Sutter played for the Chicago Cubs during the first five seasons of his career.<br />In 1979, he won the NL Cy Young award and finished the season with a 2.22 ERA, 37 saves and <br />110 strikeouts in 101.1 innings and 62 appearances.<br />Sutter was traded to the Cardinals in 1980. He helped the team triumph over the Milwaukee Brewers to win the 1982 World Series.<br />Prior to the 1985 season, Sutter joined the Atlanta Braves as a free agent.<br />He endured four years of injuries before being released by the Braves in 1989.<br />Both the Cubs and Cardinals have inducted Sutter into their respective Hall of Fames.<br />The pitcher was also elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
