In the early 2000’s it was rumored that Suge Knight who co-founded Death Row Records, J Prince who co-founded Rap-A-Lot records, and Irv Gotti who founded Murder Inc Records wanted to start a black-owned record distribution company. This might’ve been the initial plan but it grew to be something bigger. According to Irv Gotti, this then lead to the idea of starting a union for artists.<br /><br />Suge spearheaded the plan and he went as far as to meet with the same labor organizers who helped set up the player's union for the MLB along with J Prince. However, after news broke out of this plan Suge, Dame, J Prince, and Irv Gotti would all deal with various legal issues.
