Easy and simple is cabbage cooked in the Caribbean. Successful combination of veggies is fried over medium heat until al dente, a bit crunchy and half-done – juicy, bright, aromatic and mouth-watering. And no need in any meat addition. Jamaica style fried white cabbage comes out tasty and not heavy – a perfect dish any time. <br /><br />✅ Ingredients: <br />• white cabbage – 1,5 lb / 700 g <br />• 2 bell peppers <br />• carrot – 5 oz / 150 g <br />• onion – 3 oz / 100 g <br />• scallion – 4 stalks <br />• tomato –9 oz / 250 g <br />• garlic – 4 cloves <br />• vegetable oil – 2 tbsp <br />• salt – 2 tsp <br />• ground black pepper – ½ tsp <br />• 1 chili pepper<br />• dried parsley – 1 tsp <br />• sweet paprika – 1 tbsp <br />• sugar – 1 tbsp <br />• butter – 1 oz / 30 g <br /><br />✔︎ You will need:<br />• pan <br />• carving board <br /><br /> Preparation: <br />1. Cut the white cabbage, onion, bell pepper, carrot and scallion into strips. Mince the garlic and cut the tomato into medium pieces. <br />2. Note to cook over medium heat stirring constantly. <br />3. Heat the vegetable oil over medium heat in the pan, add the carrot and fry stirring for 2 minutes, then add the onion and stir, add the garlic and fry stirring for 2 minutes. <br />4. Add the bell pepper, tomato, white cabbage and scallion, stir well, add the salt, ground black pepper, paprika, dried parsley and ringed chili pepper. Stir and fry for another 15-20 minutes stirring constantly. <br />5. Add the sugar and butter and stir to melt the butter. <br />6. The Jamaica fried cabbage is not to be very soft, al dente – slightly crunchy. <br />7. If you prefer softer veggies, go on frying until readiness you like. <br />8. Serv the Jamaica style fried white cabbage hot.
