A man has been charged with the murder of Elle Edwards, who was shot at a Merseyside pub on Christmas Eve. Connor Chapman, 22, of no fixed address appeared in court and was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court this Monday.<br /><br />An inspection by the CQC found that Liverpool's The Hamlets care home, run by Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton, has seen a "significant deterioration" in care. The home, which serves 30 people with mental health needs, has been ordered to improve and had its rating downgraded from "good" to "inadequate" in November.<br /><br />Colleagues paid tribute to Ben Lightburn, 31, an ambulance worker who died in a New Year's Day car crash on Blind Foot Road, Rainford, St Helens. Co-workers at NWAS described him as a "truly genuine, kind, and caring soul" who showed "immense care and compassion to all his patients."
