Here is the recipe of cooking of the most tasty pea soup with bacon. Lightly smoked bacon adds a delicate flavor to soup and soft boiled pea – a special velvety texture. Crispy croutons will complement a dish and give a particular charm to it. Pea soup is cooked with less efforts and the result as a rule beyond all expectations. <br /><br />✅ Ingredients:<br />• split peas – 17 oz /500 g <br />• bulb onion – 9 oz /250 g <br />• carrot – 9 oz /250 g <br />• smoked bacon – 7 oz /200 g <br />• garlic – 3 cloves <br />• water – 8 cup /2 l <br />• salt – 1 tbsp <br />• ground black pepper – ½ tsp <br />• 1 bay leaf <br /><br />✅ You will need:<br />• stockpot with a lid <br />• pan with a lid <br />• carving board <br />• bowl <br /><br />Preparation: <br />1. Wash the pea under cold water, lay into a stockpot and pour with 2 l of water. Bring to a boil and cover with a lid, reduce the heat and boil over low heat for 1 h 20 m. <br />2. Fry the bacon over low heat for 4 minutes in a pan. <br />3. Take out the bacon into a bowl, lay the chopped up onion in the pan, fry for 2 minutes over medium heat then add the garlic and fry for another minute. <br />4. Add the grated carrot and braise with a lid covered for 10 minutes over low heat. <br />5. Add the fried vegetables, bacon, salt, pepper and a bay leaf into the stockpot, bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes over low heat. Serve the pea soup sprinkled with croutons and green onion.<br />
