As Covid eases we are able to begin accepting more donations and so continue to increase the tonnes saved from landfill<br />FACING CLOSURE<br />Need to find permanent premises as time is running out. We have until end of March 2023 otherwise we need to close and begin dissolving the charity<br />PREMISES – WHAT WE NEED<br />Approx. 9000 sq. ft., ground floor, street access<br />Wind and waterproof with heating<br />Secure yard to park our van<br />Central location to make it easier for our members to access our service<br />Within a community with good transport links<br />The premises do not need to be anything fancy we can clean, paint and even have some trades people who are happy to donate their time to help us make it our forever home<br />MEMBERS – over 200 members made up of<br />Hundreds of students throughout Scotland<br />Artists, professional and hobby crafters, community groups, uniformed organisations, churches, educational facilitators, care homes and individuals from across Scotland<br />VOLUNTEERS<br />Our volunteers come from all walks of life and each one brings their own knowledge and skills to GPA. Some have been out of work for many years to raise a family, care for a loved one or due to illness, suffer from mental ill health or have retired. Volunteering is their first step back into society, we try to make this as easy, welcoming and comfortable as possible for them. Helping to build their confidence and enabling them to move onto more challenging volunteering roles either within GPA or other organisations, move to further education or even employment with transferable skills learned within GPA<br /><br />COMMUNITY<br />Community can access part of our service with our community room and also our free trolley outside – supporting the most vulnerable in our society with no questions asked.
