Hong Kong Bans CBD, , Claims It’s a ‘Dangerous Drug’.<br />Hong Kong Bans CBD, , Claims It’s a ‘Dangerous Drug’.<br />Associated Press reports that Hong Kong banned cannabidiol (CDB) on Feb. 1.<br />CBD is a non-psychoactive derivative of cannabis and is typically used for its stress-relieving and inflammation-reducing properties.<br />But according to Hong Kong officials, it's difficult to isolate pure CBD from cannabis, and there is a possibility of THC contamination during the process.<br />Additionally, the Hong Kong government says CBD can be easily converted into THC.<br />From now on, CBD possession can result in seven years of jail time and a $128,000 fine.<br />Anyone found guilty of importing, <br />exporting or producing CBD will face <br />life in prison and a $638,000 fine.<br />Many CBD-related businesses in Hong Kong have either had to shut down or remodel <br />their business plans as a result of the ban. .<br />Rumors of the ban affected how I do business.
