This band deserves a lot more attention than it sadly gets... or should I say doesn't get. This selection, best known in the version by Bix Beiderbecke & His Gang, displays their great skill. Thanks to the long play Diamond Disc format, the band is able to improvise a lot in solo work, The present issue was recorded in 1927. Leader Frank Winegar also played banjo, ukelele, and tenor guitar. The vocalist remained uncredited, but may be Arthur Hall. Further personnel included: Bill Drewes, trombone; Herman Drewes, trumpet; Tony Franchini and Bill Haid, piano; Jimmy Granato and Jack Linden, clarinet and alto saxophone; Larry Hart, tenor and baritone saxophone, clarinet and piccolo; Don McCarter and Norman Moran, trumpet; Don Nyer, drums; Elliott Russell, violin; Frank Sollecito, alto, baritone and soprano saxophone; Mike Widmer, banjo; Billy Wolfe, tuba
