Stephen Humphrys netted a superb 50-yard strike from his own half for Hearts on Saturday.

The loanee forward's wondergoal came in stoppage time in the Jam Tarts' 3-1 Scottish Premiership win against Dundee United at Tynecastle.

And Humphrys, speaking after the sensational strike, admitted he would celebrate his stunner with a succulent Chinese meal and a bath.

He told BBC Scotland: 'As soon as it left my foot I thought: 'This has got a chance'. I didn't know where to go (to celebrate) as I've never scored a goal from the middle of the pitch before.

'Normally you're near a corner and then go off and knee slide or whatever but I was a bit delirious really and celebrated not in any specific way.''

When asked how he would spend his evening, the Wigan loanee added: 'Get home, probably FaceTime my mum and dad down the road.

'Then a Chinese meal, bath, then bed. Love Island is not on tonight so I won't be watching that!'

Humphrys, 25, has scored four goals in 17 appearances in all competitions for Robbie Neilson's side this season since signing on a temporary deal from the Latics in August.

He tweeted a video of the goal with the caption: 'If you don't shoot, you don't score,' followed by a football emoji.

Steven Fletcher had given the visitors an early lead, but Ryan Edwards' red card after half an hour turned the tie.

In the second half, Lawrence Shankland and Alex Cochrane made it 2-1 to the hosts, before Humphrys' last-gasp brilliance.

Neilson said: 'It was a bit of a rollercoaster game. We started poorly and were poor in possession again.

'They got the goal and they were the better of the two teams but the sending-off changed the game in our favor and we manage to see it out and get the result, which is great.'
