This is the miraculous moment a dog was rescued from under the rubble in Turkey - 138 hours after the deadly earthquake.

The video was filmed in the city Antakya in the Hatay province on February 11 five days following the earthquake.

The dog is seen stuck between mounds of debris and rubble as rescuers manage to rehydrate it with a bottle of water.

Eventually, enough rubble is removed from around the dog to dislodge it from the tight space.

One rescue worker grabs it by the collar and eventually drags it out after several attempts.

Elif Polat, 27, was part of a search and rescue operation in the Sümerler district when she captured the moment.

"It was miraculous because we were removing debris and only dead bodies, and the dog was buried in the rubble with almost no gaps," she said.

She continued: "I can't tell you about that feeling because we were only removing bodies from that wreckage and it was almost impossible for it to be a living soul.

"We were using two construction machines and we had completely demolished the building for four days.

"But after hours, a miracle happened, we saw an underground ridge and it was breathing, it had heavy piles of rubble on its head and legs.

"I started the video late because I thought the dog was injured and I was ready for the first responder.

"When we removed the rubble none of us could believe there was no damage and its head was buried in the ground we couldn't believe how it was breathing.

"It was totally a miracle."

She said that the site of the wreckage used to be a five-storey building and this was deep at the bottom of the rubble.

Only fifteen minutes before the dog was rescued, emergency workers retrieved bodies from the dog's family, a father and a daughter.

She added: "It gave us so much hope and happiness, my voice trembled and at that moment I cried for the first time in days and couldn't continue making videos.

"The biggest miracle I've seen in my life."
