This hypnotic footage captures an ‘orchestra’ of orcas singing to each other.<br /><br />The jaw-dropping video shows multiple orcas - or ‘killer whales’ - in the icy sea before the camera pans underwater to reveal the mammals singing together.<br /><br />US Coast Guard Fireman Niall Shannon filmed the close encounter with the pod near McMurdo Station in Ross Island, Antarctica. <br /><br />Orcas produce sounds to navigate, communicate and hunt, using a combination of whistles, clicks, pulsed calls, pops and jaw claps.<br /><br />This video was captured in January 2023.
