This is the bizarre moment a clever sheep used her head to unlock a gate to let her pals roam free leaving farm staff stunned.<br /><br />A hidden camera captured Lucy the Leicester sheep put her head through the pen’s wooden fence and slide the bolt open with her mouth.<br /><br />She then pulls the gate inwards to open it and in a matter of seconds, Lucy and her companions are freed and ready to explore the farm site.<br /><br />Staff at Whitehouse Farm Centre in Morpeth were left baffled when Lucy the one-year-old black and white sheep and her two fellow ewes repeatedly escaped.<br /><br />To solve the mystery, the farm installed a hidden camera to film the farm animal’s clever breakout.<br /><br />In the hidden footage, Lucy is seen to check left and right for oncoming staff before unlocking the pen and escaping.<br /><br />Whitehouse Farm posted the video on their Facebook page on Thursday (16/2) and it has since gone viral with tens of thousands of views and shares.<br /><br />Social media users were amazed at how intelligent Lucy’s escape plan was.<br /><br />One user said: “The craziest part was that she knew she needed to open the gate inward.<br /><br />“That wasn’t an accident push of ‘look I’m free’ situation.”<br /><br />Another joked: “Lucy pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes – brilliant.”<br /><br />Another said: “Wow, clever girl.<br /><br />“And they say sheep are stupid. You have definitely shown them.”<br /><br />In the post, Whitehouse Farm said: “OMG, a mystery has been solved today at Whitehouse farm.<br /><br />“We have been puzzled for some time how the same pen of sheep keep getting out.<br /><br />“Look what we caught on camera today.<br /><br />“How intelligent in Lucy the Leicester Sheep.”
