These musicians are not from Indiana. We aren't always hearing five musicians. As for the word "Original," that is just following the example set by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band (and the music is not truly original though it is admirable--other New York musicians were playing in the same manner at this time).

Another name for this ensemble is John Sylvester and His Orchestra (or Johnny Sylvester & His Orchestra). Some Gennett labels give the name as John Sylvester and His Playmates.

These are some of the musicians used at different times, issued under one of the names I mentioned.

Larry Abbott = Clarinet, Alto Saxophone

Charlie Bates = Piano

Tony Colucci = Banjo

Johnny Costello = Clarinet

Eddie Edwards = Trombone

Elle Evans = Trumpet

Harry Ford = Piano

Jimmy Lytell = Clarinet, Tenor Saxophone

Roy Madison = Piano

Tom Morton = Drums

Mark Martini = Trombone

Pete Pelizzi = Trombone

Johnny Ringer = Drums

Frank Reino = Banjo

Andy Sannella = Clarinet, Alto Saxophone

Johnny Sylvester = Trumpet, Leader

Joe Tarto = Bass Brass

Original Indiana Five "Stavin' Change" (Pathe) 1923 = Johnny Sylvester Charles Panelli Nick Vitalo
