The Scottish Government has intervened on a plan to build flats in Merchant City, which was given the go ahead by Glasgow City Council despite 140 objections. <br /><br />Community groups had raised concerns that the flats could threaten the future of neighbouring music venues.<br /><br />The Government will now review the application and make a final decision.<br /><br />Next up, contract workers at Glasgow’s First Bus depot who were due to strike have suspended action after receiving a new pay offer.<br /><br />Unite the union said members would vote on the deal, and if it is rejected, they would rearrange the strike. <br /><br />And finally, Glasgow City Council has embarked on a new project that will see a new park and an improved resilience to flood risk in Cardonald. <br /><br />Construction work is underway at an underused area adjacent to Queensland Court, where the authority is hoping to boost sustainability.
