A woman who caused a crash in 2019 that killed a pedestrian and injured five others in East Dumbartonshire has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and is banned from driving for 12 months.<br /><br />Janette Henry drove her Range Rover into a family walking to restaurant in Bearsden, killing 60-year-old Eleanor Ballantyne. <br /><br />Next up, the Caledonian Sleeper service which connects Glasgow to London is to be nationalised later in 2023, the Scottish Government has announced. <br /><br />Last year, ministers decided to terminate Serco’s contract to run the service seven years early. <br /><br />And in other news, a Glasgow takeaway was named the Best Kebab House in Scotland at the recent British Kebab Awards. <br /><br />This is the second year Shawarma King has taken home the prize, with the team - who are first generation immigrants - saying they feel strongly about the welcoming attitude that Glasgow has to them, not just as a business, but as people too.
