A driver stranded in an overflooded river was rescued by a California Highway Patrol helicopter crew after his car was swept away.<br /><br />The CHP shared footage of the dramatic incident on social media and said the rising Salinas River in King City washed away a vehicle, but that the driver was able to escape and get to an island.<br /><br />Air crews were able to locate the man and lower the rescuer down before both were pulled back up to the helicopter.<br /><br />The man was shaken but uninjured after being rescued, the CHP reported.
