A dad saved the day when he stepped up and completed his daughter's two-week-long Fortnite challenge - after she fell ill on the final day and was unable to finish.<br /><br />Michael Whitehouse, 43, took over from Fortnite-obsessed daughter Rowan on the 13th day of the challenge after she had already amassed 47,000 - of the 48,000 points - needed.<br /><br />Heroic Michael picked up the controller when eight-year-old Rowan fell ill and was unable to complete the 'Most Wanted' challenge.<br /><br />With only one task left, Michael took it upon himself to complete the challenge and claim the prize for Rowan after all her hard work.<br /><br />Michael, a virtual event organiser, has been a gamer since the 1980's and had been playing Fortnite with Rowan over the last six months as way to engage with her.<br /><br />Fortnite is the world's most popular video game and regularly has limited challenges, where players can earn rewards including weapons, skins and characters.<br /><br />Michael, from Connecticut, USA, said: "The Most Wanted challenge was a lengthy challenge with a series of tasks to complete to get the skin. <br /><br />"To be honest, when I first looked at it, I thought it was too long to bother, but Rowan dived right in. <br /><br />"I often don't have enough time to play to complete these limited time challenges like this. <br /><br />"When I saw the progress she was making, I realized that we could get there, so I started working on it alongside her. <br /><br />"There was less than a day left in the challenge, which we needed 48,000 points to complete. <br /><br />"She had gotten to 47,000 points, so only one more objective needed to be done to get the final prize."<br /><br />Michael and Rowan were so close to completing the 'Most Wanted' challenge, but disaster struck as Rowan was taken ill and was unable to continue the game.<br /><br />"I went up to talk to her and she was feeling pretty crummy. I told her that I would take care of making sure she got the skin, so I picked up the controller and finished the last task," Michael added.<br /><br />Michael quickly completed the challenge and took to TikTok to document the special moment between him and Rowan.<br /><br />The video quickly went viral with many online praising Michael for his dedication to Rowan's interests.<br /><br />Michael added: "You can tell that this video tapped into a need that many people on the platform have. <br /><br />"There are a great many people who wish they had this kind of relationship with their fathers. <br /><br />"For some it's a simple matter of wishing that their dad was into their hobbies, but I got many comments from people whose parents are absent, abusive, dead, or otherwise not even in their lives or a negative influence." <br /><br />Fortnite is the most popular video game on the planet with 236 million monthly players.
