Lake Mead , Defies Projections , As Water Levels Rise.<br />The Hill reports that Lake Mead <br />has been struggling to stay above <br />the government's most recent projections. .<br />According to a U.S. Bureau of Reclamation<br />report released in March, Lake Mead has <br />already dropped an estimated 1,043.06 feet. .<br />However, the water level at Lake Mead was holding on about 3 feet above projected levels as of April 3.<br />The Hill reports that Lake Mead's water level rose at the beginning of the year, followed by a minor dip.<br />Recent rain in the area has contributed <br />to stabilizing water levels before rising <br />nearly half a foot to end March.<br />The opening days of <br />April have seen water levels once <br />again drop by about half a foot.<br />Meanwhile, Lake Powell has recovered after <br />dropping to an all-time low in March, rising over <br />a foot since hitting that grim milestone.<br />The Hill reports that the Bureau of Reclamation <br />is expected to allow Lake Powell to benefit <br />from melting snowpack in Colorado. .<br />The Snow Water Equivalent currently held <br />in the Colorado Rockies' snowpack is 158% of <br />its average, climbing 8% in just one week.<br />According to the Bureau of Reclamation, <br />Lake Mead could drop 9 feet lower than its <br />current level by the end of April
