The Environment Management Authority is awaiting a ruling by the Appeal Court regarding the powers of the authority and the powers of the police with respect to enforcing noise pollution rules.<br /><br />The Chairman of the EMA made the disclosure as both the authority and the committee delved into the adverse health effects that can be caused by noise pollution, during a Joint Select Committee hearing in Parliament.<br /><br />Juhel Browne reports.
