A petition has been made calling to save local bus services that are at risk of being pulled due to antisocial behaviour.

First Glasgow has threatened to withdraw a number of evening services after a wave of arson attacks.

The petition was shared by the Crookston and Pollock community, appealing to save what they call lifeline routes.

Next, Renfrewshire is set to receive three new bin lorries that can be powered by vegetable oil after councillors gave the green light.

Board convenor John Shaw said the vehicles generated 90 percent less emissions than traditional diesel and are a third of the price of electric alternatives.

And in other news, a bid to turn the former TSB bank building on Dennistoun’s Duke Street into a restaurant has been approved following an initial rejection.

Planning officials previously raised concerns over the late night noise it would generate, which they declared was unacceptable on neighbours.

However, as the building has been vacant for more than three years the successful applicant argued it would contribute vibrancy to the area.
