A woman has died following a fire at block of flats in Renfrewshire.<br /><br />Firefighters said the blaze was already well-developed by the time they arrived at the building on Belmont Street.<br /><br />Area Commander for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a 38-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and their thoughts are very much with those affected.<br /><br />Next, a project directing the restoration of a 90-year-old Clyde streamer has received a £1 million donation from an anonymous source. <br /><br />A campaign was set up to fundraise the £10 million required to carry out an upgrade on the TS Queen Mary in the hopes it can carry passengers again.<br /><br />And in other news, the Glaswegian comedian Frankie Boyle is set to lead Channel 4’s coverage of King Charles III coronation next month. <br /><br />The special programme Farewell to the Monarchy is said to provide a different perspective on the history of the royal family.<br /><br />It has also been announced that Glasgow Cathedral, along with dozens of other venues across the UK, has been selected to screen the ceremony live.
