Residents in Pollock were evacuated from their homes after an unexploded bomb was discovered.<br /><br />The alarm was raised on 23 April while a bomb disposal unit attended the scene and removed the item. <br /><br />Residents have since been permitted to return to their properties. <br /><br />Next, TGI Fridays, the restaurant chain with premises on Buchanan Street and in the Silverburn centre, has come under scrutiny for axing its free meal policy for staff working longer shifts. <br /><br />Labour councillors have called on the firm to reverse its decision, while TGI’s defended the move, saying they want to give more equitable benefits to all employees. <br /><br />And in other news, Finnieston’s first food market is set to take place next month, featuring a wide range of vendors serving locally produced food with origins from across the world.<br /><br />The monthly event will take place in The Hive on Argyle Street and is set to be a staple in the local community which is known for its food culture.
