Police are hunting a knifeman after a man was stabbed to death on a high street in a trendy city suburb.<br /> <br />Emergency services were called to High Street, in Kings Heath, Birmingham, after the victim was found with stab wounds at around 2.25am today (Wed).<br /><br />Despite the efforts of paramedics he was confirmed dead at the scene near the junction with Queensbridge Road next to Highbury Park. <br /><br />West Midlands Police has now launched a murder investigation and urged anyone with information to get in touch.<br /><br />A force spokesperson said: "A murder investigation is under way after a man was fatally stabbed in Kings Heath this morning.<br /><br />"We were called to High Street, near the junction with Queensbridge Road, just before 2.25am after a man suffered serious injuries.<br /><br />"Despite the best efforts of emergency services he was confirmed dead at the scene.<br /><br />"A cordon is currently in place while we carry out investigations into why this happened and who was responsible. <br /><br />"We thank everyone for their patience while we do so."<br /><br />Anyone with information can contact the force via Live Chat online and quote log 255 of 26 April.
