A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted about 975 kilometers east of Mindanao at 3 p.m. on Monday, May 1, the state weather bureau announced in its 4 p.m. bulletin.<br /><br />The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that it is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao and Palawan.
