A controlled explosion was carried out just outside of Buckingham Palace. A man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon after he approached the palace gates and threw a number of items - suspected to be shotgun cartridges - onto the grounds - just days before the King's coronation. <br /><br />Highgate Tube station was temporarily closed on Tuesday and people were asked to avoid the area as firefighters tackled a huge blaze at a building on Archway Road in Hornsey. Six fire engines and around forty firefighters battled with the fire that set half of the first floor of the derelict building alight. <br /><br />And finally - A thirty-three year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Brixton on Monday. Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Stockwell Park Walk where a woman was found with stab wounds. The thirty one year old died at the scene.
