Martin Lewis has warned those with enough national insurance credits for the full state pension against topping up their years that are not full.<br /><br />The MoneySavingExpert answered a question from a Good Morning Britain viewer who asked if it was a “good idea to top up” the years they are missing.<br /><br />“Only if you like burning money,” Lewis said in response.<br /><br />“You have a full state pension, topping up your national insurance years would not give you any more pension, so it would literally be throwing money away.”<br /><br />He added, however, that there are “millions of people” who should be doing it.
