Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer dismissed "nonsense" claims that Sue Gray's independence during her probe into Partygate should be questioned.<br /><br />Ms Gray is due to take over as Keir Starmer’s chief of staff following a stint as a senior civil servant, during which time she investigated and produced the report into Partygate.<br /><br />She found that events held in Boris Johnson's residence and other locations "shouldn't have happened" during Covid-19 lockdowns.<br /><br />"It's nonsense and I've said many times before that I didn't speak to Sue at all during the Partygate investigation", Mr Starmer told LBC on Monday (15 May).
