Audio captures an intense Russian air attack on Kyiv early on Tuesday (16 May).<br /><br />Ukrainian air defences, with Western-supplied weapons, shot down all 18 missiles aimed at the capital.<br /><br />Loud explosions could be heard over Kyiv as the night-time attack combined Russian missiles launched from the air, sea and land.<br /><br />It appeared to be an attempt to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defences.<br /><br />No casualties were reported.<br /><br />The explosions came as leaders in Europe sought new ways to punish Russia for the war.
