The Trial By Judge Alone bill has been referred to a Special Select Committee of the Senate.<br /><br />This, after the Attorney General sought to assure Opposition and Independent Senators of an amendment to the bill preserving the right of an accused to be tried by a Judge and jury once the Judge is satisfied that the accused has proper legal advice.<br /><br />Juhel Browne reports.
