Gaia launched at Mackintosh Queens Cross on 13 May and will remain open for public display until the end of June. <br /><br />Luke Jerram’s six metre sculpture of earth is presented by the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society inside the architects only built church. <br /><br />The artworks includes detailed NASA imagery of the planet’s surface, and allows the opportunity to see a three dimensional floating earth lit internally. <br /><br />It is quite the site to see. <br /><br />Next, the biggest celebration to date showcasing the work and life of revolutionary fashion designer Dame Mary Quant is set to open at Kelvingrove Art Gallery on 20 May. <br /><br />The exhibition will feature over 100 garments, accessories, cosmetics and photographs landed from the V&A’s extensive collection, Dame Mary Quant’s archive, a public appeal, and private collections. <br /><br />The event was organised by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and opens just a month following the subject’s death. <br /><br />And finally, Glasgow’s very own Lewis Capaldi is set to play an intimate hometown show in the city’s O2 Academy in aid of the release of his latest album.<br /><br />The event will take place on 7 June to an audience of just 900, which has been dubbed particularly rare as the singer is currently in the middle of a sold out world wide tour.
