Meet the 23-year-old who has made £180k reselling household items - in just 12 months.<br /><br />Luke Williams, 23, started selling old mobile phones on eBay while working on a building site - as his salary didn't cover his bills.<br /><br />He branched out to source household items from wholesalers, and sell them on Amazon in June 2021. <br /><br />Luke started making £1000 a month and after his earnings increased to £30k a month he quit his job as a builder in January 2022.<br /><br />In 12 months he has raked in £180k of profit - reselling household products such as meat grinders, baby changing mats and air fresheners. <br /><br />Luke, a re-seller, from Bristol, said: "I started out by buying old phones from Facebook and reselling them on eBay.<br /><br />"I only wanted to make an extra £1k a month as it would help me with the extra payments I had.<br /><br />"I went to university, studied building and surveying and went to work on a building site. I did that for about a year.<br /><br />"I started selling on Amazon in June 2021. I have made £180,000 in profit with most of that coming from the last six months."<br /><br />Luke graduated in June 2020 and started working on a building site.<br /><br />But he quickly realised he wasn't earning enough money to pay for all his bills and started selling on eBay - making an extra £1k a month.<br /><br />He said: "I just wasn't making enough money. I came across Amazon FBA and realised I could buy from wholesalers and sell on the app too.<br /><br />"What I sell ranges from air fresheners, meat grinders, phones, kids' toys and changing mats.<br /><br />"Thornton's chocolate are really popular at the minute."<br /><br />The 23-year-old said most of the £160k profit has come from the past six months and said the cost of living crisis has played a role.<br /><br />He said: "It's not just food prices that have rocketed, so have petrol prices.<br /><br />"People don't want to be leaving the house and driving to the supermarket.<br /><br />"If you buy things on Amazon, you can get them cheaper as you don't have to pay to get to the supermarket either."<br /><br />Luke's earnings means he has been able to pay off his £17k Mercedes Benz and fly business class to Abu Dhabi.<br /><br />Since starting the business, Luke has hired two members of staff - to prepare and source the products.
