A 64-year-old cyclist who was struck by a car in Glasgow’s East End has died in hospital. <br /><br />John Morton from Paisley passed away from his injuries following four days in critical condition at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. <br /><br />Police enquiries are ongoing and they have urged anyone with information to get in contact. <br /><br />Next up, former employees of Morton’s Rolls, the Glasgow bakery that went into liquidation in March, have launched a legal battle demanding redundancy pay. <br /><br />The government’s Redundancy Payment Service has told ex-staff members they are not entitled to a pay out because the firm was still solvent when saved by angel investors. <br /><br />And in other news, a woman from Glasgow is leading a social enterprise encouraging companies across the country to make workplaces as supportive as possible for pregnant employees and new mothers.<br /><br />Susannah Dale is urging firms to commit to a series of wellbeing steps that go beyond the statutory requirements for maternity leave.<br /><br />This follows research from the Equality and Human Rights Commission which suggests 54,000 women a year are pushed out of the workforce after becoming pregnant. <br />
