A 39-year-old man has died after being hit by a bus on Argyle Street.<br /><br />He was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, while no passengers or the driver of the bus were injured. <br /><br />Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them establish the circumstances that caused the crash.<br /><br />Next, a South Side charity which has operated for almost 40 years has announced it has been forced to close at the end of June after running out of money. <br /><br />The directors of the Glasgow Play-Resource Association made the difficult decision after failing to find an affordable and secure premise after a two year search. <br /><br />The charity prevent tonnes of waste material going to landfill each year and promotes creativity through its craft store. <br /><br />And in other news, Sauchiehall Street is set to get a £5.6 million makeover in new plans that will see green spaces boosted and active travel improved. <br /><br />Council Leader Susan Aitken said it was the biggest project of its kind in the UK and the aim is to bring a more attractive environment into the city centre while improving connections and encouraging more walking, cycling and wheeling.
