Surah Al Baqarah was revealed in the city of Madina so it is called “Madani” Surat.<br />Surah Al Baqarah protects from the attack of Shaytaan. It is said by Holy Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) that the person who develops a habit of reciting the four starting verses of Surah al Baqarah along with Ayatul Kursi and Surah Baqarah last 2 ayat will get his life, belongings or assets and family protected will remain sheltered from Shaytaan and will not become among those who forget Allah.
