Emergency services have descended on Nottingham city centre following reports of a "major incident".<br /><br />Members of the public have been urged to stay away from several roads, which were cordoned off this morning (Tue),amid several ongoing incidents.<br /><br />Police, paramedics and fire crews all raced to the scene while public transport services were halted. <br /><br />National Inter-Agency Liaison Officers, set up following the Manchester Arena bombing, were also in attendance dressed in purple body armour and helmets.<br /><br />It is not clear what has caused the massive emergency response but there have been unconfirmed reports on social media of multiple casualties being treated.<br /><br />A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers and other emergency services are currently in attendance at an ongoing serious incident.<br /><br />"There are multiple road closures in place throughout the city while the incident is being investigated.<br /><br />"We are asking the public and motorists to please avoid the following areas and plan alternate routes."<br /><br />Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said it has "multiple fire engines" at the scene.<br /><br />The Nottingham Express Transit (NET) tram network also said it has suspended all services due to "major police incidents around the city and suburbs".<br /><br />Nottingham City Transport added: "There is severe disruption and delay to services this morning because of a police incident in the City Centre, where Milton Street, part of Upper Parliament Street (Theatre Square – Maid Marian Way), Burton Street and part of Mansfield Road are closed."<br /><br />Ilkeston Road, Milton Street, Magdala Road, Maples Street, Woodborough Road,<br />Maid Marian Way and Parliament Street remained closed.
