USDA Approves 'Lab-Grown' Meat , for US Consumption.<br />GOOD Meat and UPSIDE Foods each <br />received FDA approval on June 21 to sell their "cultivated" chicken products, Fox Business reports.<br />The companies' products are grown from animal cells in a lab, bypassing the need to raise and slaughter chickens.<br />Proponents say that in addition to addressing animal cruelty, the method can help to cut down on greenhouse gasses, which experts say contribute to global warming.<br />Instead of all of that land and all of that water that's used to feed all of these animals that are slaughtered, we can do it in a different way, Josh Tetrick, Eat Just co-founder and CEO, via statement.<br />GOOD Meat is real meat, made without tearing down a forest or taking a life.
