UK Actors Union to Protest , in Solidarity With SAG-AFTRA.<br />Equity, an actors' union in the United Kingdom, <br />will protest in London and Manchester on July 21 in <br />support of American actors on strike, Deadline reports.<br />Equity, an actors' union in the United Kingdom, <br />will protest in London and Manchester on July 21 in <br />support of American actors on strike, Deadline reports.<br />According to Equity, "there will be a colorful <br />display of banners, flags and signs for people <br />to hold, and we’ll hear from speakers from the <br />entertainment industry and trade union movement.".<br />While the union plans to "stand in <br />unwavering solidarity" with SAG-AFTRA.<br />"SAG-AFTRA members currently working under an Equity U.K. collective bargaining agreement should continue to report to work" as a result of U.K. anti-trade union laws.<br />Shows such as 'House of the Dragon' and 'Industry' fall under this category and are continuing amid the strike, Deadline reports.<br />Other U.K.-based shows, such as 'Amatuer,' have halted for the time being.<br />Actors in the U.S. first went on strike on <br />July 14, protesting wages and AI's <br />proposed involvement in their industry.<br />The Writers Guild of America <br />went on strike on May 2.<br />The last time both unions went on strike at the <br />same time was in 1960, according to The Verge
