Scammers Hijack Phone Numbers , for Airlines on Google.<br />The phone numbers for several major airlines were recently changed on Google, NBC News reports.<br />Instead of being connected to customer service, some callers were being redirected to scammers trying to steal their money.<br />Airlines that were affected <br />include Delta, American Airlines, <br />Southwest Airlines, Air France and more.<br />The phone numbers "have since been corrected" on Google, NBC News reports.<br />It's not clear how they were changed <br />or who was responsible for the scam.<br />Google issued a statement, saying it does <br />"not tolerate this misleading activity.".<br />Our teams have already begun reverting <br />the inaccuracies, suspending the malicious accounts involved and applying additional protections to prevent further abuse, Google spokesperson, via statement.<br />Delta also issued a statement.<br />Whenever we become <br />aware of an alleged scam targeting our <br />customers, including in this situation, we immediately conduct an investigation, Google spokesperson, via statement.<br />According to Google's Business Profiles, the tech giant <br />has had a difficult time keeping scammers from posting <br />fake contact information within Google Search and Maps
