Police officers arrested a Black mother in London in front of her crying son after they thought she hadn’t paid for a bus ticket.<br /><br />Footage of the July 21 incident shows the woman being restrained by Metropolitan Police officers in Croydon, while her young son was moved away by a female officer.<br /><br />In a statement Met Police said officers had arrested the woman because she was asked to confirm with a revenue inspector that she had paid her bus fare, but did not agree.<br /><br />Officers handcuffed and arrested her on suspicion of fare evasion where the force claim she then became abusive.<br /><br />It later emerged the woman had paid and was “de-arrested”.
